ANTHRAX: Early Albums To Be Reissued On One CD

February 18, 2005

Megaforce Records will re-release ANTHRAX's classic album, "Fistful of Metal", and "Armed and Dangerous" EP on one CD on February 22.

Like METALLICA and MEGADETH, ANTHRAX "was responsible for the emergence of speed and thrash metal; combining the speed and fury of hardcore with the guitars and vocals of heavy metal, they helped create a new sub-genre of heavy metal," reads an official press release. "Unlike METALLICA, they had the good sense to temper their often serious music with a healthy dose of humor and realism.

"Their first album, 'Fistful of Metal', included original singer Neil Turbin and featured the now classic song, 'Metal Thrashing Mad'. It also introduced fans to this new brutal style of metal. Their second release, 'Armed and Dangerous', saw singer Joey Belladonna and bassist Frank Bello join the lineup. Belladonna helped take the band farther away from conventional metal clichés and was a catalyst in making ANTHRAX arguably become one of the leaders of the speed metal genre."

Fans can now have these first two ANTHRAX releases in one package featuring new artwork and liner notes from the band. ANTHRAX has sold over 10 million records worldwide.
